Once upon a time there was the president’s vacation… Everyday, in prime time, for more than a week, we could see Basescu’s every move, every dance, every glass of drink. Now the prime minister has a vacation and we are waiting for spicy details from his private life.

But a new star is at the horizon. He is black, he is a fighter, he is eating human ears for breakfast and he likes one-night stands, especially if the price is low, like in Mamaia. A broke boxer who eats a lot, drinks till he drops, smokes in the morning, f**ks like a devil: this is Mike Tyson. And we are all forced to see him in the news, between news programs, in promo clips.

An entertaining boxer, a medicine against floods, a lollipop in the summer, food for Romanians hungry for real news.

I never worked in television, but sometimes I imagine the talk between the news editors and the reporters: how do they agree on such issues? How come that all TV stations agree on the fact that Tyson’s adventure in the Black Sea is interesting for everybody? Again, it’s very sad…
