I discovered this on MoonLightShadow and I think it illustrates the system of bribing everybody in Romanea. So, should I bribe or not? A Native American grandfather was talking to his grandson about how he felt about a tragedy. He said, „I feel as if I have two wolves fighting in my heart. One wolf is the vengeful, angry, violent one. The other wolf is the loving, compassionate one.” The grandson asked him, „Which wolf will win the fight in your heart?” The grandfather answered, „The one I feed.”

We had a big ceremony at the school today, marking the beginning of the new academic year. We like ceremonies and festivities here, in the Balkans. That means a little delaying the real work. We’ll have another party Friday. The ambassador of the UK came and made some British jokes (some people even laughed), the dean made some bitter remarks, TV journalist Lucian Mindruta auctioned his job, I was in charge of the laptop and the projector (as usual). Oh, and I also popped-up a bottle of champaign. Hooray, hooray, the parties keep on coming!

We had a power outage in our neighborhood yesterday and that means no Internet at home for me. I think it will be back today. When I was coming home, I noticed an electricity pillar on fire. Nobody cared. It’s strange, but these days I rediscovered Eurythimcs and „Here comes the rain again” (BTW, are they reuniting or what?) and the rain came. I received an SMS from a friend who is living in Slobozia: „Buy a boat and get out of Bucharest quickly!”
