In the Internet class in the undergraduate program today I gave them a special homework: choose bookmarks and export them as a file to be attached in an e-mail which is to be sent to me. Maybe we can learn a lot of things about a person just by looking and browsing his/her bookmarks folder.
I think today’s class went very well. The students were surprised, amused and interested by the exercise that they had to do: speak in a group and draw the hypertext structure of their improvised discussion. Taking Basescu as a central point of the example navigation chart was a very good idea, because he is a complex person, with a lot of connections and activities. I was a little surprised by the fact that they are not very Web-savvy. I might consider a special session on basic Internet and Web practices…
People think I’m a butler. My colleagues treat me like a servant who always has to be there when he’s needed. I’m not entitled to sleep, relaxation and preparing my courses is not important for them. I have to stand up and fight, as a non-stop robotic warrior. But, as you saw in most of the SF movies sometimes robots fight back and become human again.
