I guess you all remember the Nigerian Scam, so famous because a Nigerian gentleman was asking you for some money, as a fee for the future transfer of a large amount of money from a foreign bank account. Well, it seems that the guys who put his together organized a football match in Romanea yesterday. Only 10 players present at the airport, the official T-shirts printed with the names and numbers at a supermarket in Bucharest (2 hours before the match) and some other funny moments were offered to the Romanean citizens for free by the Romanean Football Federation.
Well, I must say, like in those cartoon series: „Bend over, Romanea!” You deserve a kick in the butt!
God, I love this country… always funny, always sad.
I actually got the Nigerial Letter a few years ago (and wrote a FJSC homework on it as well :D)and replied it a few times, to see where it gets. I smelled something fishy from because they were offering me millions of US dollars. Unfortunately, I did not get two many replies as I started asking for evidence…Or maybe it was because I mentioned Romania, just to see the reaction?
I can’t believe it! You actually answered the letter? That’s so funny. Well, they didn’t answer back because they were expecting some money from you.
No, we hadn’t gotten to that part! They were just describing the situation. It was three of us making up the answers an it was quite fun, until I wrote I am a simple journalism student, sir, I really don’t know how to help you. And they didn’t reply out message :(. We were hoping one of the other two would also get it, so that we could try a rich guy’s answer, but this was the only one.
It is know as a 411 scam, after the section in Nigeria’s crimal code. Its been running for years and these unscrupulous people have fleeced millions of dollars out of somewhat naive victims.
Here’s a site that helps people become more aware of the 411 scams. I don’t think the site is a scam :)
