Every year, I receive the same messages starting with the „May the light…”. Hundreds of SMS and e-mails are travelling uselessly around the world every Easter.
Millions of empty words are sent and received, just to make us feel better, to make us feel we did what we had to do.
I’m sick and tired of the bulk greetings, of the standardized e-cards, of the preformatted Easter messages. Feelings in a can, with a label with an empty spot on it. All we have to do is fill in the spot with our name and hit Send.
Let’s CC and BCC each other and let’s feel good and merciful.
Well, at least at such a time we tend to remember everyone. I guess I prefer more personal messages, sending a text or email message to each person as they are all different. So I will post a comment here for you. Happy Easter, have fun with the light thing if you’re going (don’t let the wind get you), and have some nice little eggs, lamb and everything you plan on having :) I will be having my own private show tonight and tomorrow night: it is called the nightshift :)
Once more, enjoy!
I don’t think so, we do it because we feel obliged. I don’t think we care about those people, we just have to „Send to group” the SMS we received from smbdy and we thought it was romantic.
Thanks for your wishes, anyway. I will let myself guided by the LED lights tonight, coming from the TV, laptop and mobile phone.
Well, sometimes those lights carry more meaning than a candle lighted just because it’s the thing to do.
As for the sms…well, I made a habit of only saying something, no matter the medium, to people that matter only. Keeps you ream, somehow!
Enjoy tonight! I know I will, instant soup, energizer, coffee, and a huge computer room just for myself :)
