Today I spoke to a student in the distance learning program who said she likes Emile Zola and she is now having a crush for Balzac. Now, isn’t that postmodern? Zola came into te discussion between reality shows and the fact that people should be taught to read books, no matter the authors. Is it so important to read books nowadays? Isn’t it more simple to Google something you don’t know and to quote Wikipedia? Why the effort?
