My humble TOEFL experience 1

(Timp estimat pentru citirea acestui articol: 1 min)

I was the first in the group of three to finish the test. I hope this doesn’t mean that I’m superficial and dumb.

I very much liked the essay topic: „Some people believe that university students should be required to attend classes and others say that attendance should be optional. Which point of view do you agree with and why?” Now, could I have been more on topic than that? Of course, I said attendance should be required :-)

The provisional score was 237 out of 279, because the essay has to be read in the US and then they will send me the official score.

Funny thing: I thought I had the right to send the score for free to four universities of my choice. Nobody told me that the options have to be made in the very day of the test taking. As I had only one university to apply for the moment, I lost the chance to get the other three free options. I will pay 17 dollars per university in the future. No problem, but I think nowhere in the TOEFL bulletin is stated this minor detail.

Best of luck with the TOEFL! I took it 11 years ago…

I want to invite you and your bloggers on my Maria Dracula blog, at http://mariadracula.blogspot.com.

This is a blog based on the character Maria Dracula from my fantasy novel for children with the same name (www.mariadracula.com).

I grew up in Eastern Europe (Bucharest, Romania). Because now I live, read, and write in North America, I invite readers and writers who grew up in various places in the world to post their thoughts about the books they read as kids and how a childhood spent in different countries and cultures influenced their writing and reading as adults.
