Do you remember Emile Zola? 1

(Timp estimat pentru citirea acestui articol: 0 min)

Today I spoke to a student in the distance learning program who said she likes Emile Zola and she is now having a crush for Balzac. Now, isn’t that postmodern? Zola came into te discussion between reality shows and the fact that people should be taught to read books, no matter the authors.

Is it so important to read books nowadays? Isn’t it more simple to Google something you don’t know and to quote Wikipedia? Why the effort? A 45-minute documentary on Discovery about avalanches will offer somebody more compressed information than a very well researched encyclopedia about this.

I tend to abandon the combative attitude for book reading and turn on the TV. Nothing around me makes me change my mind.
