What country is this? I don’t recognize anymore the values that my parents have taught me. I thought going to school is worth, I thought this has to be one of the most valuable deeds of a young person.
But what to think when the president confesses, at the new academic year opening, that he didn’t like school and that he is OK now even without too much education?
As far as I’m concerned, he doesn’t deserve to be a president, because he doesn’t know how to pretend he believes in some of the most cherished values of humanity: the need to know more and the curiosity that makes the world evolve.
And when the media is making jokes about his statement, emphasizing the president’s lack of formal education as a key to success, it’s even worse.
Let’s declare this country a dead body and bury it.
George, I see your point and I hope there are several like you out there to help change the mentality. If it makes you feel better, good education doesn’t guarantee a great president. Such a president recently said that „I hear there’s rumors on the internets…” People say that they are as nervous when waiting for him speak as when waiting for a drunk man cross an iced street.
That’s right, I know that a lot of people don’t understand how such a big country as the US has such a dumb president that they reelected, but he may be right. In some terminology, „internet” means „internal network”, so the plural is right :-)
Wow, let’s cheer this great discovery: school sucks! All 8 year olds say that! But most of them get the picture by high-school or by university that they need is to have a better life! Those illiterate politicians that buy university diplomas are actually smarter than the President, at lease they know how important school is!
