I have a very good friend whose mind is deep-linked. Her thoughts are changing very fast, she is passing violently from an idea to another, while she is silent. But when she starts talking, she is expressing separated bits of information, taken out of context. Everyhing is clear for her, because talking about that is just a normal continuation of her hyperlinked ideas. But it’s confusing to me and a session of follow up questions is necessary for me to understand.
How the human mind works is a typical example that I give students in the Internet class, when I start explaining to them what hypertext is. Intertextuality comes next but just mentioning Julia Kristeva makes some of them yawn and remember the violent semiotics classes.
