FOR BEGINNERS
What are we looking for?
· to bring up a new generation of translators from Romanian into foreign languages
How?
· 20 grants for a period of 3 months each
· grant value: 2,000 EUR for the whole period
· accommodation at the Brancoveanu Palaces Cultural Centre, Mogosoaia
· partnership with the Translation Studies MA Programme, Bucharest University
· workshops with Romanian translators
Period
· first session: April – June 2006 (10 grants)
application deadline: 1 March 2006
· second session: October – December 2006 (10 grants)
application deadline: 15 August 2006
Application requirements
· Curriculum Vitae
· letter of intent, addressed to the President of the Romanian Cultural Institute
· 1 recommendation letter from a professor of Romanian language or a translator from Romanian
FOR PROFESSIONALS
What are we looking for?
· to support direct contact between foreign translators and the Romanian cultural environment
How?
· 10 grants for a period of 1 to 3 months
· grant value: 1,000 EUR for the first month; 500 EUR for the second month; 500 EUR for the third month
Application requirements
· Curriculum Vitae
· letter of intent addressed to the President of the Romanian Cultural Institute
· translation project
· projects already proposed for publication by foreign publishing houses will have priority
· clear indication of the preferred duration
Programme requirements
· the grant winner undertakes to publish excerpts from the translation in specialized journals or in a volume within 6 months from the completion of the grant
