I have an aunt who has the Down syndrome. Whenever she goes to the cemetery, to mourn her dead relatives, she tries to weep. She simulates the sounds and emotions, but the tears don’t fall on her face. I’m sure she feels the pain inside, but the tears refuse to come out. She is doing that because she knows it’s a tradition to cry at the cemetery, as a sign of respect for the dead family members.
But the others believe she is faking it and sometimes people laugh at her. I understand her.
But I don’t understand the faked emotions that will follow today. Multimedia shows, opera singers, very well-preserved flowers and two movies. They don’t care about the victims, only their families know the pain. The presidents, prime-ministers and movie makers do it for the rating and because they are obliged to.
