A teacher had the bright idea to create a sort of an online grade registry for his students. The problem is that every students is identified by his/her real name, photo and personal records. So, if you want to harass some minors, now it’s the time! The full story in Evenimentul zilei.
That’s just evidence of a sloppy „coder”.
By the looks of that page, the guy doesn’t even have base knowledge of user security or coding to support that.
The idea isn’t to blame but there are more professional tools that offer usability as well as privacy for the users and the students.

A Internet based application that allows parents to keep track of students’ performance would solve a lot of problems but there is the need for good financial support for its creation and implementation at a national level.
On the bright side: there are better coders ;)
There are tens of other specialized websites he could use. These are just plain HTML files that he updates. I guess he doesn’t know the law or webdesign software. How much is a licence for your virtual catalogue?

I sent the administrator an email regarding his website and kindly requested him to review his privacy standards concerning his students. I also directed him to a the good resources of a Privacy Policy.
I still don’t have a reply but if he took the side down just because of that he should give the web a second thought.
I didn’t have enough time to search for prices on catalogue platform already in use but I think that Siveco delivers its own version along with the eLearning system.
