The personality lies in the bookmarks 7

(Timp estimat pentru citirea acestui articol: 0 min)

In the Internet class in the undergraduate program today I gave them a special homework: choose bookmarks and export them as a file to be attached in an e-mail which is to be sent to me. Maybe we can learn a lot of things about a person just by looking and browsing his/her bookmarks folder.

So, having different sites bookmarked on different computers you use should be sees as? Multiple personality or multiple area of interests? How should you judge when they are completely different compared to when they have some sites in common?

I meant exported bookmarks, you know: you make your bookmarks on a computer and generate that simple HTML page that you can carry wherever you go (or keep it in your e-mail account). I do this when I travel, I don’t use online collaborative bookmarks services. I like very much the personalization of Google News that you can share through a unique link.

Great idea, though I’m not so sure that I’d let my bookmark give me away ; as to the kind of a person I am. Besides, there’d be a lot of pressure on me when I generate it since it’s going to be the peephole into my personality.
    Enjoyed your blog!

Torti, that would maybe a teenager, probably a girl. If it’s a boy, he is working in the media or at that magazine, more precisely. That’s my opinion.

Kayla, if you sort them out from the beginning, it’s easy. Once a month, I’m cleaning out my bookmarks folder, because sometimes there are websites I had in the folder that I don’t use anymore. I also use the ScrapBook extension for Firefox which is great for saving entire pages with just one click.

i have made an account at del.icio.us for this.

for me it’s not about keeping links public or not, but with firefox’s foxylicious you can have them in sync on many computers … like home and office computers – which is nice.

you have a nice blog – i like reading people who have something to say.
