What’s expecting us after January 1st, 2007 2

As the EU wants us badly (hey EU, the cheap labour force is coming, wait for us), here are some news from the future: Voters have been left feeling disgruntled by price increases, hikes in tax and education tuition fees; and nearly 75% of those polled said the government’s campaign promises had created „false expectations.” Almost two thirds of respondents said they had been „taken by surprise by the austerity measure. The news is taken from a Hungarian publication, but boy, how close we are to that!


Shopping bag voyeurism

Romanians like to look in each other’s bag in the street. In the good old communist times, we used to do that because it was a way of finding the source of rare products. “Oh, neighbor, where did you find those paper toilet rolls?” Of course, those who knew somebody who knew somebody who could provide under the counter products, had to use dark, closed bags.
