I agree with you, George.
This is a more important fact to think about than The National Day.
I lit the candle too. I agree that stopping AIDS is more important than any national day on Earth. But in a country where the main „disease” is prejudice (especially about AIDS, mainly because of the almost-total lack of education in the field), what would the people celebrate? The National Day, with beans and pork ribs, or AIDS day with candles and donation? The answer is obvious. I gave up on believing that the old generation can ever be changed and the new generation (yes, including me) is more preoccupied by lesser things (with exceptions). But maybe things will change one day (i hate this phrase so much…)
